OUTLET - Plug into Christ!
Outlet is all about service...
We gather together to talk about the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy and plan a project that will have an impact on our families,
our parish, our community,
our country and maybe even the world!
“Plug into Christ!”
Frequently Asked Questions about “Outlet”
Do Outlet Service Projects count towards fulfilling the required Community Service ?
YES. The Outlet program is based on the Works of Mercy and every service project we perform will reflect the Spiritual and Corporal Works. We keep records of the hours attended as well as any service projects that require more time than our usual session. We are always happy to sign off on a student’s service.
Who attends Outlet?
Parents attend with their 6th, 7th and 8th graders. It is very much an inter-generational program. We sometimes even have grandparents and other family members join us! If there are younger children who need to come with you occasionally, most projects can be done by all ages at their own level of participation and they are certainly welcome.
What if I have a conflict with a Confirmation session the same day?
This does happen a few times through the year. If no parents or adult family members are available to attend with the student, usually another family coming to that session will make him or her part of their group that day.
Are families required to attend a minimum number of sessions?
NO. Families may come to as many as they like during the course of the year. We meet two Sundays a month in Knight Hall from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. (so families can attend the 5:30 Mass) and very few projects require consecutive sessions. Occasionally we participate in off site service, such as a clean-up at Doheny Beach.
If we can't attend a session on the day that we are registered for,
may we come to the other day's meeting?
YES... but please just let us know so we can accurately plan for the number of participants and the supplies needed.

"Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service...
We are all God's children so it is important to share His gifts. Do not worry about why problems exist in the world - just respond to people's needs...
We feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but that ocean would be less without that drop."
